The assami labra is very beneficial to health.Hence, it is recommended to include assami labra in our diet.

The ingredients of this are:


  • Pumpkin, cauliflower, egg plant, carrot (mixed vegetables 50 gms)
  • 1 medium sweet potato
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • Whole dried red chili-1
  • Oil- 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger grated- ½ tsp (optional)
  • Turmeric, a pinch
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Green coriander - for garnishing
  • Bay leaf - 1 no.
  • Cumin seeds- ¼ tsp



  • Peel and chop all veggies into diced form.
  • Heat the pan, add oil and heat it.
  • Now add bay leaf, cumin seeds, asafoetida and whole dried red chilli. When they start to splutter, add chopped onions, ginger and green chili, turmeric powder and saute till the onions turn golden.
  • Add all mixed veggies, sweet potato, salt, and water. Cover with lid and cook till the veggies are cooked. Garnish with green coriander and serve hot.
