The chole ki dal is very beneficial to health.Hence, it is recommended to include chole ki dal in our diet.

The ingredients of chole ki dal are:

INGREDIENTS

  • Split black gram (urad dal), raw - 20 gms
  • Bengal gram (chana dal), raw - 10 gms
  • Onion, chopped - 1/2 medium
  • Tomato, chopped - ½ medium
  • Ginger, chopped - ½ inch piece
  • Garlic cloves, chopped - 2
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 1/2 tsp

DIRECTIONS

  • Soak both the dals (urad & chana) in water for 30 mins-1 hour.
  • Drain and pressure-cook, on low heat, both the grams in 1½ cups of water with salt and turmeric powder till the pressure is released two times (two whistles).
  • Heat the oil in a pan.Now,  Add the onion, ginger, garlic and asafoetida and saute till golden.
  • Add the tomato and saute till it turns pulpy. Add the red chilli powder and saute.
  • Now, Add the cooked grams and mix.
  • Add ½ cup of water, adjust the salt and simmer for half an hour or till completely soft.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
